von Werner Brockjan | 25.10.08, 10:15 | Uhr
Tomorrow we say "Goodbye".
But today we have NERIC ACOSTA here with us. He is our last speaker in our „International Conference: Internet:Enabling:Freedom“. Neric Acosta is Secretary-General of the Liberal Party of the Philippines and the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD). He was a member of the Philippine House of Representatives 1998 up to 2007.
In his closing remarks he stresses (among other things) one very important point for us Liberals: „Building and strengthening the institutions of a democratic infrastructure in order to promote human rights, the rule of law and to safeguard civil rights.“ The Internet", he says, "is an invaluable tool in doing so. Because people have more access to issues that really matter to them via Blogs, Podcasts, Feeds, eMail and the Web in general.“
Please listen to this great speech from Neric Acosta from the Philippines.
